Susquehanna Valley Medical Specialties (SVMS) formerly Susquehanna Valley Orthopaedic Associates, P.C. (SVOA), 6850 Lows Road, Bloomsburg, has ten successful years behind it, and is about to embark on its most exciting and challenging term to date.  Once a three employee orthopaedic practice, SVMS has now branched into a nine physician multi-specialty group consisting of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine. SVMS offers on-site X Ray and Laboratory Services and now employs over 65 staff members and continues to work toward its founding motto of providing the highest quality, full-service health care for families throughout the region.  Each year, it tries to improve on this goal, which greatly benefits the patients of SVMS. In December of 2006 SVMS moved into their brand new state-of-the-art medical facility located in the Stanley Center on the site of Susquehanna Valley Healthcare Complex (just 200 ft. north of their former site).

                The Orthopaedic Division of SVMS consists of Dr. Mark S. Williams, a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, who founded SVOA in 1997.  Dr. Williams is as busy as ever with a three-month list of patients awaiting his care.  According to Dr. Williams’ current patients, his services are well worth the wait. Dr. Williams recently added Pamela A. Morrow, PA-C as his primary assistant. Pam will help triage patients needing to be seen by Dr. Williams and will be directly involved with much of the follow-up care of post surgical patients. Pam will also be utilized for patients needing injections and evaluations.                 
          The Rheumatology Division of SVMS consists of Dr. Lisa A. Mucciolo.  Dr. Mucciolo is Board Certified and provides the immediate area with the only fellowship trained Rheumatologist. She sees patients Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 

          The Family Medicine Division consists of an excellent team of physicians.  July 2004 brought with it Drs. Chris and Catherine O’Neil, two well-known family physicians formerly employed by the Bloomsburg Hospital. Dr. Lori Masteller came on board in August and Dr. William Kuprevich started his tenure in October 2004. All SVMS Family Physicians are Board Certified and accept most insurance plans including GHP. They offer both pediatrics and general family medicine. In addition to providing care to the patients of SVMS, Dr. Chris O’Neil serves as Team Physician for Central Columbia High School; Dr. William Kuprevich serves as Team Physician for Bloomsburg High School.  Dr Catherine O’Neil provides physician services at Bloomsburg University Health Center and Dr. Lori Masteller is the Elected County Coroner.

Dr. Cynthia Freeland heads the Internal Medicine Division of SVMS. Dr. Freeland is currently on Staff at Bloomsburg Hospital providing Internal Medicine guidance to the physicians utilizing that facility. She is currently a Team Physician for Bloomsburg University, her Alma Mater.

                Physicians and services also utilizing space on the complex with SVMS consist of Dr. Mark Pyles, General Surgeon, Dr. Aldo Suraci, Urologist, Dr. Edwin Aquino, Physical Medicine, Frank Dominick, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Geisinger Cardiology, Neurology and Sleep Lab, Plus 1Rx Pharmacy, Columbia Ancillary Services, NorthEast Ear, Nose and Throat, and The Susquehanna Valley Women’s Center.

                SVMS administration would also like to thank its staff for all the hard work and dedication throughout the past year and credits them with much of the company’s success.  SVMS continues to strive for quality and is very excited about the upcoming year.
